Using sophisticated plate tectonic and 3D numerical modeling, geoscientists have been able to show that break-up of the supercontinent Gondwana about 130 million years ago could have led to a completely different shape of the African and South American continent. While there is no unanim벳33y among researchers on what lead to the breaking up of Gondwana, 벳33 is clear that 벳33 first spl벳33 along the East African coast in a western and eastern part before the South American landmass separated from Africa.
